Four day Outboard Ignition class at CDI Electronics
I know not many people are into the Tech classes on here but figured I would post anyways.
I have talked to alot of other Marine Techs that have taken this class and they talk highly of this class and what you can learn. Im taking the first week. Its $400. little less if your part of Amtech.
They hold them the two different weeks once a year:
February 9-12
February 16-19
Four 10-hours days of in-depth study (Wed. through Sat.)
Learn everything about outboard electronic ignitions from the early battery CD ignitions, to the latest in fuel injection. Instructions is provided by the CDI Electronics staff right at the CDI Electronics manufacturing facility in Madison, AL. Receive a plant tour of CDI Electronics and learn how the products are manufactured, and how to expertly troubleshoot field-related problems.
Topics to be covered include:
•Basic electrical
•Basic concepts of power, current, voltage
•Resistance and wires
•Diodes and components
•Electronic test equipment
•Boat-tronics 101
•Batteries, flywheels and stators
•Ignition systems
•Charging systems
•Timing systems
•Power packs and switch boxes
•Ignition coils and spark plugs
•Optical ignition system
•Optical sensors
•Power pack functions
•Troubleshooting
•Outboard EFI systems
•Principles of EFI systems
•Sensors and functions
•High performance
•Direct fuel injection technology
•Principles of ECU/ECM/EMM operating systems
