Ouch! That's the definition of a crappy day. First thought was no tie-downs but when I enlarged I see at least one.

Looks like Florida... That should buff out, not..

omerta one 01-25-2011 05:26 PM

Speaking of tie downs I need some...where is the best place to get some strong ones with coated hooks and wear pads?

wjb21ndtown 01-25-2011 05:37 PM

I'd be willing to bet the truck ass-ended the car in front of him, causing a sudden stop and launching the boat onto his truck. Doesn't look like the truck shouldn't have been able to handle the weight of a 22-26' deck boat with a single. How much do those things weigh?

DollaBill 01-25-2011 05:47 PM

TOWING NO PROBLEM AT ALL. Problem is there were obviously no tie downs

question- Mr. boat dealer, how much does this boat weigh?
answer- Well Mr buyer, more than your little truck can handle.
His reply " It's OK I've got a heavy half ton with air assist shocks.
OK then then sign right here and take possision of your new boat!!!

Dual axle trailer brakes on that trailer behind that half ton pickup to would probably stopped him enough to just kiss bumpers, LOL!!!
That boat most likely weighs a lot more than it looks like it might.

See ya,
Kelly

I dunno . . . . looks like he could just pop the trailer and carry on. . . . . . back 'er in till the front bumper is under water and i'm sure that'll float right off :D

Check with Warparty 36 (i think) he's our resident tie down guy.

That's what you get for buying a foreign powered boat and a foreign made truck!!!! :)

DollaBill 01-25-2011 06:57 PM

As far as egg beaters go Honda's and Yamaha's are the ONLY way to go. And, believe it or not, Suzuki is a great engine now for the money.

I know.....the little CC I bought last summer has a 150 Yamaha on it :) but so many of the boats on this site need BBC power.

85scorpion 01-25-2011 07:16 PM

That's hilarious!!

ItsPeanut 01-25-2011 07:35 PM

Atleast you only need one tow truck.

DMOORE 01-25-2011 07:36 PM

A friend has the exact same Hurricane boat. They are not heavy at all, and quite easily within the tow capacity of a 1/2 ton truck. Most people believe that tie down will save them no matter what happens on the road. It simply isn't true. Even if ya had two 5000lb tiedowns, if you were to rearend something at 10g's, that little 5000lb boat just put 50,000 lbs of force on those poor straps. Not to mention the D rings pulling out. I always use tiedowns on my boat, but if I were in a real accident, I'm not too confident on them saving the boat.

Darrell.
