Default How do i Come into Racing?

I am a huge fan of boating/racing, I have grown up around boats my whole life, my father had a scarab then a velocity. I have no knowledge as to how to start a team or even become a signed up racer. I know everyone is going to say look it up idiot but its beyond that i want to know how the process works of starting a team and how much money generally it costs and if/or sponsors can cover boat cost. And from research Im starting to see there is really no money in the sport? True/ False? Someone please brush up on this, thanks-gavin

Default Caution

Be very careful, Dont jump into anything.Ive been very involved in it for 25 years alot of people come and go. The bigger the show the shorter people are around. My advice to you is go to a couple shows this coming season and look around, look into each schedule pick the ones you would like to vacation at, because done right it can turn into long weekends away. PM me if you want ill give you a number and if you have questions. good luck and caution.

Go into the racing forums on this site and ask around. You will get the help you need. Also look at these boats;

Hi,
If I can help you please drop me an e mail and I'll give you my phone number. There are definite paths to take, organizations to help you and some pretty fine people that share your passion.
