Moving to Punta Gorda Florida
Currently boatless and looking for recommendations as to what boats I ought consider.
I had a Rinker 23' 454 Magnum and it porpoised and was not good at white water at all. Then bought a Wellcraft 26' Nova ST T-350 Magnums...21* deadrise. Very good at white water but not a Cigarette. ;) Length Deadrise Types of waters and challenges Just an overview of what to expect/plan for and invest in for boating conditions in the Punta Gorda area. Might head for the Gulf now and then. I would not be asking if I could buy anything. I know it will probably be a used boat. So something in the $ 75,000 range. I was "toying" with the idea of a Kawasaki Jet Boat 20* deadrise Twin 25 and' 8'6" beam....looks fun but would I have to be limited to "channels"? Bad idea? Thanks for your help! |
Some of the guys in Ft Myers Offshore who live up that way can can give you more exact info... but- Charlotte Harbor is huge, you could get by with a smaller boat no problem.
There are so many great boating areas around here - if I were you I would try to get something big enough to handle the Gulf so you can explore. You have Sarasota/Tampa Bay in one direction and Ft Myers Beach in the other. It's boating paradise- welcome to the neighborhood! :drink: |

Very short period of time and it just did not work out. It was a "time share" of sorts...mostly an opportunity to fight. So I offed my share in it. Boats and pertners as least for me will never happen again. I got it on the 2 rainy weeks and then opted out. |
Just about like any other thing should only be one boss or captain the rest must be the crew

Skater 388 is a great choice.... :drink:

Welcome to Fl, look up Anthony Franklin's wholesale marine, right there in Cape Coral, 239-872-6270, I bought a boat from him in 5/09, and he gave me a good deal.
