Dallas Drivers are....
We get a little ice and snow flakes and this city shuts down and drivers get completely retarded. I understand driving cautious under these conditions but I dont know if its the wind chill or all the whiteness but something triggers the idiot sensor in everyones brains down here!! And all you hear on the news is talk about the visitors here for the superbowl... UMMMM HELLLOOOO, the people here for the superbowl are used to driving in conditions like this and are probably laughing or cussing at us locals!!! :violent-smiley-045:

Both my cars are rear wheel drive so I haven't left the house today. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

15 inches in Tulsa!
Crazy1 |
Driver's in Florida get retarded when we get our afternoon thunderstorms. We get great storms just about every afternoon in the summer, you'd think people would get used to it but as soon as it starts they drive like idiots...Amazing that people never learn!!
|
you think Dallas is messed up now....wait until this weekend when the SuperBowl really gets kickin....the strippers and limos should already be there in the Big D
|
Come to IN. We'll show you how it's done. :)
I have a package stuck in Texas right now with UPS. Looks like I'm going to have to drive down there to get it. ;) |
We got about 10" says the weather man

I think ther are just more idiots on the road period no matter what state your in. Here in SC we shut down the schools if there is a chance of snow!
|
Here 50 miles south of Dallas there is patchy ice on the roads but nothing bad and there still driving like morons! Some of the rural schools STILL shut down but my kids didn't, was pissed he had to go to school and others didn't. I feel for you antknee, I wouldn't want to be driving with them either!
|
received 19-20 inches up in Wisconsin over the past 3 days, drifts on some of the rural roads near me have 8-10 foot drifts ! have an H1 Hummer and having a blast! Oh, I almost forgot, AND the schools are OPEN today!

Ok, if I had a nickel for every time I heard "Geez, the drivers here in (insert city or state) are complete jackazzes" (or something similar), I'd be rich by now. :)
So, does anyone know a location where drivers are fairly intelligent on the average? That's information I'd be interested in. ;) |

Yes, residents here in Dallas have burrowed in because we've got ice. The roads were real icy yesterday, but as long people use common sense, you'll be fine. The majority of the main roads haven't been any issue for the Tahoe (then again, it doesn't matter what you drive if you're sliding on ice).

Don't be so hard on yourself. The people from Wisconsin actually aren't used to driving in super slippery conditions because we use a ton of salt on the roads up here, and from what I've heard, you don't.

True, We dont have near the resources as states that deal with inclement weather like this so that is a huge part of it. And driving around yesterday it seemed to me our roads really are not designed around ice and snow like maybe states up north, there almost seems to be more leeway for mistakes on the roads in northern states?.?.?. Good news about Texas is in 2 days itll probably be back up to 70's again!!!

I went to the grocery store tonight and was shocked at how much ice was one Green Oaks which is one of the most heavily traveled streets in Arlington. I just tried to keep the wheels on the dry pavement in the lanes. I did get loose a couple times but nothing serious.

I grew up in the Smokey Mountains and have seen my share of nasty weather, but its kinda hard to drive on this no matter who you are. :)
http://www.wfaa.com/video/featured-v...115187064.html And now on top of that, the light "dusting" of snow they were expecting overnight turned into 6" in areas, and its still coming down. Making for an interesting Super Bowl week. :) |
well they shut Houston down today due to ice, the news has been pretty entertaining.:lolhit:

Here we go again!!!
