Potentiometer
Im looking for a linear potentiometer that will work on 12v system, and has 1" to 6" range.
I have found some used for hospital beds but they are high as giraffe nuts, and would need an invertor to work on 12v sys. |
Radio Shack. I just ran out to the shop as I though I still had some. I do have a locking dial w/three digets for dialing it in.
I used to make my own delay boxes back in the 90's for my drag bikes... |
Underdog88 Thanks Radioshack has one but it has a rotary dial. What I am looking for has a shaft and tube (like a gas shock) that is capable of if moving 6".
I could make a arm that would attach to the rotary version but not really what I'm looking for. |
Ford Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators use them to control the Air ride systems. It would probably work perfect for you.

You might be hard pressed to find them in 12vDC. 5vDC is more common among linear pots for data acquisition. These are the ones Racepak sells, but they are 5vDC sensors I believe.

You could also try these guys... We purchase alot of equipment from them for our test lab where I work

You might try Peterbilt I have them on my tractor & trailer for the air ride

A pot does not have a voltage rating, at least as to working voltage. It will have a spec for the maximum voltage applied, at which point the insulation will break down - but that is up in the hundreds of volts.
The pot by itself does not do anything, you need the associated electronics if you are looking for some kind of display. What are you trying to do? |
I think I have what I need thanks guys
