Anybody go any experienc with a 23 merc high five prop. I own a 23 Island with a 454 mag fuel injected 385 hp have a 23 bravo 3 blade runs great on top end. Around 60 -65 at 5200 rpm. looking to get a better hole shot for sking an tubing any info would be a great help.

A 22 Bravo blade will make a ton of difference in planing. I had a High 5 on bow rider and it jumped on plane. The high 5 is a smaller diameter prop designed more for alpha drives. You could use BBlades test program to test each one.

your best bet is to get a 4 blade, drop down to a 22 pitch revolution 4 propeller..the high 5 is a small diameter prop and will probably slip to much on bigger boats..

Yes quite a bit. In most cases, it's a question of testing.

First things first thou. The Bravo is a 4 blade merc prop, that only comes in even sizes as stock. My guess is, that you have a Mirage or Mirage+ if it's a merc prop. The High5 is rather tiny in dia. I would try a Revolution 4 21-23. I think your boat will like the bigger diameter of the rev 4 prop. An interesting option could be the Hydromotive P5X 23" It's 15 inch dia, and will bite hard, but that is a big wheel to spin for the 454. A 21 rev 4 will put you around the same rpm's you are at now. With the 23" rev4 your rpm's should drop to about 5k, and that's where you want to be with the 454 Mag.
Bottom line is, that I've found the High5 to work best on light 15'-19' boats.

Happy boating and welcome to OSO

My bad I do have a merc mirage its a 14 5/8 dia kinda beat on the edges just seems not to be able to pull the weight I always have 8 people on board and it takes awhile to get out. I think the for blade would be the way to go to wondering about a 4 blade 23 or just dropping to a 22. Just wondering what I will loose on top with the 22.

bravo 1 22 or the revolution 4 21 are good choices for 4 blades,if it were me i would go with the rev 4 21 p..some friends have the rev 4 on their boats and they havnt lose any mph from switching from the mirage +..one picked up 1 mph

Could also try a Fury. Same new material as the Revolution. Not sure what the exact pitchs are around what your looking for but i know they go right down to the teens.
I went from a 28 tempest to the 26 Fury. I couldnt believe the difference. Spun the exact same top end speed and exact same rpm as the 28 tempest but obviously due to the smaller pitch it accelerates much harder...... loves load too!

I tried the Fury on a 22'3" 4000lb boat with a 7.4 carb 454 and it took longer to plane than the 23 mirage plus. I want to say the fury was a 24. Went back to the mirage +. Top end stayed the same as well as RPM.

When adding a blade, you need to drop down 1-2" in pitch. You will most likely lose about 2mph on the top end.
