Is there some secret to dry carpet? after i washed down yesterday, i let the cockpit dry off all day and the carpet is still wet. I have it on an incline and it still is wet. What gives? i'm about to rip it all out and gel coat/ non skid it.

Are your cockpit drains good and clear? If you get it wet often, it might be worth going snap-in. Makes washdown, and clean up a breeze.

there arent really drains. there are two small gaps on either side of the back seat. i guess i need a list also so it all drains to one side. I really just want to rip it out. It is black carpet and if it is not wet it gets hot.

I pulled my snap in out last year and you dont get that funky smell

.....snap in carpet is the way to go.......I take mine home with me a few times a season and have my guys at work soap it down and powerwash it.......always looks like new and never ever smells.......

same here, i hang them up and power wash them then lay 'em in the sun. Seems like they're totally dry in maybe an hour or two. If you dont have the ability to take them out the only way to help your dry quicker is to vac out as much water as you can. Shop vac has an attachment just for pulling water out of carpet and it works pretty well, its the wide flat looking one.

your right though, Sun does the job the best,hang them up......1-2 hrs....dry.....

hanging them helps to, gravity will do wonders. I had an old car out behind my shop that faced the sun perfectly and it would speed the process as well

I switched from cockpit carpet to DECKadence PVC flooring last year and absolutely love it. I made it snap in just like the carpet. Water goes right through it and it's got more cushion. Looks great, too!
