Default Fountain 47 sport cruiser

I'm curious as to what you guys think the top speed on a 47SC with stock triple 502's? The pic's aren't great but they look like MPI and do these powerplants require 92 octane?
And what y'all feel that the GPH on fuel would be cruising between 3500 to 3800 rpm.
As always, thanks for any advice you throw my direction, this site is fantastic for info on these types of boats.

See ya,
Kelly

I would assume it has the same bottom as a 47 Lightining? I'm running a 2002 triple 500 EFI's and it runs 82 GPS. Motors should run on 87 no problem with no blowers. If they are 525SC's you need 92+ and they will eat it up!

GPH is not good on a triple boat, but I tend to run lower RPM to cruise. Our boat has 28 bravo I's and I cruise around 2,500. It does almost 6 mph at idle.

Just wondering if you're talking about a 48EC? Not sure if they made a 47 or not. If so that boat is a bigger animal. Had a buddy with triple diesels and it ran around 60.

My understanding is that this boat has the same hull as a 47 Lightning but has a much taller deck to get headroom in the salon and weighs more too.
I searched the web and found a writeup by one of the Boat testing mags from over 10 years ago. They had a triple 52SC 47 Sport cruiser out of southern California for the test. The boat hit 70 gps on it's trip to Catalina Island for the test. I didn't think the 502's would come within 10 to 15 mph of that number they posted. The seller posted 80+ but I'm sure it was on the same dreamometer that our GPR 1300R's jet skis have when it shows 89 mph but the GPS shows 76.
This unit is on Ebay right now with a no-reserve auction, here's a link. It looks like a sweet boat that needs some little knick knack fixes. I'm curious to see where it bids to.

Do you really think they'll go as fast as the 525sc's that the magazine tested at 70 top speed. I figured they'd be down over 100hp each motor
525x3= 1571 -vs- 415x3= 1245
Maybe it was the conditions in the Pacific from the coast to Catalina that day.
Does anybody know, is that pretty big water? I've heard of LA. Long Beach, Catalina island etc.. but it's only a word on a map when your sitting at a desk in SE Texas looking at it.

Thanks,
Kelly

with those motors (415hp) it probably does between 64-66 depending on load and sea conditions,,, just put some whipples on them with 4-6lbs of boost and it will run75-80
