Post some pics of XT-INOVATIONS work please

I have talked to Dave about doing my full interior this upcoming winter and was hoping to see some posts of work he has done. I have gone to his website but wanted a little more extreme jobs to look at. If I am going to spend this kind of money I want to make sure and get it done right. Have heard several great things about him but haven't actually seen pics of much of his work on things other than bajas. Ever built custom seats or redone cushioning and patterns completely for anyone?

Dave, just reaching out to the community for ideas not trying to say anything bad.

J-Bonz 02-10-2011 05:28 PM

I would be curious to see some pics also

This Scarab was one of my personal favorites that they've done.

FuelinAround 02-10-2011 08:11 PM

I have some pretty extreme designs. I hope his crew it up to it ;)

tman 02-10-2011 08:17 PM

They did T Browns 35 Fountain on here and it looks great. He may post up some pics.

FuelinAround 02-10-2011 10:04 PM

I would love to see the fountain

FuelinAround....keep us posted on the job.......I will be re-doing my interior in my Sonic in the next year or two and would love to see how yours looks when done......Mine is actually in great shape except for some purple spots that stained the vinyl last season......had someone detail it and whatever they used to clean the snap on cover dripped through and stained my seats the color of my canvas in little spots......hardly noticable but bothers me to no end.......sorry for the hijack and back to your thread.........thanks.......

Johnny I am in the same situation..... my interior is 1989 and still looks incredible other than the embroidery stitching it splitting some. I am just updating the interior and gauges to bring it into the new millenium a little bit. Our interiors should be basically the same other than your won;t have that semi circle peice behind the front bolsters that connects to the sidewalls. I am considering losing this peice if I upgrade bolsters. I put in new grey snap in carpet last season to replace the old stuff that was in it. I will be changing the interior scheme to a light grey, dark grey, yellow combo. No more white PITA vinyl for this white boy:coolcowboy:

Here are a few pics of that Fountain. This thread has made me realize I have a flash drive missing with about 4 yrs of fun on it. :(

FuelinAround 02-11-2011 08:36 AM

This is the general design and color combo attributes I am after; except of course the blue will be yellow.

I have also considered using this color combo because my side walls are white. I could always have a covered boarding made for my side walls like the pics shown, but here is another option

OPINIONS EVERYONE?

Knot 4 Me 02-11-2011 09:45 AM

Since your side walls are white go with the Fountain color scheme. Will look sweet either way.

Don't think anyone will complain!

Fuelin- Where did you get your snap in carpet? I have the snaps on the floor, but the previous owner never replaced the carpet.

FuelinAround 02-11-2011 10:38 AM

www.snapincarpet.com excellent quality and heavy material

You won't regret the silver. White is hard to keep clean, period. Are you going for the carbon fiber? If so, definitely do not use white and for sure that yellow carbon fiber will be tough to keep clean. Use conditioner, often. Typically after each or before each use.

tim brown 02-11-2011 08:36 PM

dave and his crew did my 35 fountain . it is the older 35 above . they did a great job . just what I wanted a stock looking job . they did that . I wanted it to look like factory , it does . but , they can do anything you can dream up and make it look good . I have the utmost confidence they can make you very happy . Tim ps team baja posted the pics . thanks

tim brown 02-11-2011 08:49 PM

OK, I don't think my quote will cover all these speakers, and billet seat frames though.....lol.

FuelinAround 02-13-2011 01:46 PM

Haha.... I already got all the speakers JL 7.7's everywhere :) I am really curious to see what you come up with on your new electric bolsters. I would love to just keep my bolsters and make them electric since I think it would be hard to mold that rear semi circle peice to a McLeod or other. I will also be doing a full dash upgrade when we do this project. Can't wait to start talking to you about design more.

ROOSTER 22 02-13-2011 09:43 PM

Isn't that what mine looks like?

Randy,

Most of your boat is done, and ready to install anytime now. Will have to post some photos of the interior installed.

bigboat28 02-14-2011 04:24 PM

Who did the stereo?

XT-Innovator 02-14-2011 04:26 PM

Skater Seat (before & after)

Here is what you can get involved in updating a older style seat to make it look more like todays seating. It takes alot of cutting/shaping/pattern making, to get the right look and comfort in a new seat design.

That's impressive work!

WOTWTE here on OSO is the best stereo guy that I know. He just completed the new stereo work on my boat, and it is totally unbelievable. We work together on many projects here in Baja/Checkmate land. One stop shop!

There is still many years of boat building talent in Bucyrus OH.

Your boat XT?? You holding something back? Thought you were "casually" looking. :drink:

Dave recently made a Sunbrella cockpit cover for my 342. The workmanship and turn around was excellent!

Any Ideas to what you could do with this interior... I do need to get it done before summer.... Plus, I do travel past that area often getting back to visit with both sides of the family...

Do you have any side shots of the boat?

First thing I notice is a lack of cupholders. ;)

TB,
here's the best side shop I can come up with.... Yes there is not enough cup holders... I will be glassing up a center counsel that I will want upholstered also........... I would like the taller bucket seats but dont want them hanging out of the boat.... Looking for the Gladiator look..... Hows Ohio doing?
Jr.

Sorry if I hi jacked the thread!

Well I do have a 1984 Baja (classic) 184 SS that I have totally redone, and getting ready to finish. I will be sending all the photos to Matt Trulio to do a OSO story on the build.

I still need a island runner for Lake Erie that I can overnight on. Sure wish that I could have kept the 29ol, but I will have something like it again someday?
