Back in the day, these type of endurance events were used by the boat builders to show the public what a great product they built.

With the economy the way it is, now would be a great time for some of the builders to spend a little money on their products ........and show the world they do make a boat, that can handle 271 miles of high speed running and come back in one piece.

It would be so nice to see a full field of new marathon boats from some of the old high performance names of the past.......Formula.....Donzi......Magnum......Ciga rette......Sonic......you fill in the blank............

Can they still make high speed boats that can last in real open ocean water conditions?????? One way to find out.....I will be wanderng around the boat show, if any manufacturer wants more info....we will do whatever we can to assist you in this.

What class would a 42' twin fall under???

Actually it's 39'6" running surface?

I'd love to do it if all lines up but I think your rules about cockpit will screw me...

I want to do this so bad, it is killing me!
My wife would literally kill me if I did it this year being it falls right on our first wedding anniversary!
I am looking into adding a 50 gallon fuel cell and watching my mileage very carefully this year.....2012 may be just what the doctor ordered. I can get a mile per gallon at 70mph.... add 50 gallons puts me at 290 gallons.....

GL......you would be a Class B entry.

We are trying to get some definite rulings re the removal of the top entry door on the canopy boats to see if that is enough.

The issue is..... there are not enough helicopters to cover all the boats and we want safety first.....you have to be able to get right out of the cockpit if there is a problem.

As far as extra fuel......I won't get into that issue with you...LOL

Your boat is a 40 footer under these rules. As a matter of fact your boat is, in fact, a 40 footer with a big *ss.....

Come on out and get yourself a helicopter.....

OHHHHH!!!!!!. Well......I'll bring the extra 5 gallon cans and join you again anytime...fish lines or not.

Start waxing that bottom up, I have your name already entered for the marathon. Put some big pillows on your seat and look out the top of the canopy and you will be fine.
