Jackplates for my Spectre????

Gentleman -

I have a Spectre 30 with twin 300XS's. One of my jackplates is cracked, so I need to replace them. This did not crack from misuse. Rather, they were "cut" to fit the transom, which created a "weak link". Long story.

Anyway, I was planning on using the CMC manual jackplates, which I think were standard on the Spectre's for years. They are 5 1/2 inch setbacks. CMC offers two manual jackplates that give 5 1/2 inch setback. The standard one is ~ $225/ plate. They also offer a stainless steel one that is ~ $1000/plate.

Which one do I need?

The boat is ran on a chain of lakes in Minnesota. Obviously, no ocean running and it rarely gets overly rough, although it is out of the water on occassion when I hit the random boatwake.

Thanks.

Mike

That stainless one would be nice, but I doubt it would be worth the extra weight and cost.

If you want the bling, go with SS... otherwise the I'd go with the aluminum.

I might be parting out a boat that has two good aluminum jack plates on it, I'll know in about two weeks or so.

Talk to Darris Allison at Allison Boats makes the best plates made. www.allisonboats.com 865 983 5920. I have one 8" manual if you decide to change setback will sell for half the price of a new one. They have zero flex, he is a stickler for detail you wont be disappointed. Check areacode I havent talk to him in awhile.

Hi!

Stainless Marine has a very good one too. 4 1/4 setback. Both manual and hydraulic.

Ck out R+R see link below. Used the 3.5" Slidemaster on my Skater. Awesome bracket. They also have others.
Blows away the CMC in my opinion. Have had both.
They come already powdercoated.
