ok . . . . am i the only one that thinks that would be a blast to be out on that ship? Love it when its heavy seas with no rain so theres good visibility. :drink:

bulletbob 03-02-2011 10:46 AM

I would like to go for that ride also! Not sure how my stomach would like it, but looks like fun nontheless.

JasonSmith 03-02-2011 11:14 AM

I had a friend in the Navy on a destroyer. He said there was a common room in the front of the ship where they watched TV & hung out. Anyway, in rough seas they'd take a table chair up there & see who could ride it the longest.

mikes280 03-02-2011 11:51 AM

waves over 40 ft high WOW

seans36baja 03-02-2011 12:18 PM

I watched talking trash roll in the Detroit river cornering in 2-3s.

drpete3 03-02-2011 12:53 PM

In that huge boat it makes the waves look like 6' .....so if anyone wants to take my little boat out on lake Mi in 6' it would feel about the same.

CLA 03-02-2011 02:00 PM

rockstrmkr 03-02-2011 08:03 PM

No thanks ....
Not sure why, but when I was a kid my Dad had the brilliant idea of taking my Mom and little brother, and me, from Hamburg Germany to Kingston Jamaica (where we lived at the time) via a Freighter....
Leaving the port of Rotterdam, the seas were so ugly, and this freighter rolled from side to side so violently, that the force tossed my four year old brother (I was ten) out of a bunk bed, clear across the cabin against the inside of the hull, and after that he dropped about two feet and fell face first into a heavy glass ashtray that was fastened to a bolted down side-table.
It was an ugly trip...
That kind of water would have me curled up in a fetal position crying like a baby girl.....

PokerRun388 03-02-2011 08:54 PM

There's some bad a$$ photos of Freedom on that trip somewhere. I just can't remember who took them. I think they were in Poker Runs America magazine.

Catmando 03-02-2011 11:40 PM

The Captain of the QE2 said he was hit by a rogue wave over 90' high. This was in the 80s I think. Until he spoke up, nobody believed there could be waves that big. They thought it was just tall tales from the sea.

RunninHotRacing163.1 03-03-2011 09:30 AM

that would explain it all...:lolhit:

Perlmudder 03-03-2011 09:32 AM

I was thrown out of my bed when a 10-12 footer hit the side of the 150 ft I was on, threw the boat on its side, even with stabilizers. I can't imagine what a 30-40 ft wave would feel like. Probably hell a scary.
