Default Good Family Boat

Under 22ft.

tubing, waterskiing, family boat rides, some fishing.

Preferably outboard power. reliable. under 20k USD used.

For my girlfriend's dad who just bought a place on a smaller lake in Northern Ontario. No mechanical knowledge.

What is a good option?

I know nothing about this segment of the market.

I was thinking 20' baja outlaw. But then i thought you would probably like an open bow better.

I had a 20' Outlaw and loved it. I never had a problem with it. It started everytime i turned the key.

Campion Chase 580. There is a few running where I am, and they are nice little boats. Great for skiing and fun. Don't know about the fishing though

I'd look for a little center console like a Boston whaler with a 4 stroke outboard

Searay makes a really nice open bow under 22'.

The Crownlines seem to be popular, but they always seemed junky to me. Someone else may disagree though...

If you want outboard power , look for a 21 checkmate starflite . water ski/ tube friendly.

There is an 05 on ebay with a 5.0 and they are saying 55-60 so use that to make a guess
