I have noticed That a lot of Hull are based on Dakota 36 mold

Sonic
Marlago
BlackWater
Spectre
And even aldean based in united arab emirates !!

And meabe others That i do not know yet

Any comments about that ?

Your right about Sonic's being Dakots, etc......
Frisini "purchased" Sonic and are slapping the Spectre sticker on them. It's pretty obvious the boats have not been changed since the original design.....To me it seems to "de-value" Sonics, Marlago, BlackWater, Spectras or whatever they are today........... but I dont own any of them....so it doesn't matter to me

Wrong.!!! Sonic is not based on Dakota. Neither does Spectre. Spelling?/... meabe (whatever that means?) some of the others either.

The above link shows a Sonic featured in 2009 Powerboat Mag that is now a 2011 Spectre. Only changes are the stickers.....

Apologies if Dakota does not fit into this category-I was only going on advertisements/statements by dealers in So. Florida

I am pretty sure Sonic bought the Dakota molds years ago which is now a Sonic/Spectre/Frisini/ whatever they are.

HUGE difference

Don't want to start an major argument here, but those links just show boats. Nothing about the history of the hulls.
But if you guys want to "research" further? review the beams, and strake designs on the Dakota, Sonic etc.
Sonics came from Charlies Banana boat design that Sonic bought. Not from Dakota. There are many similarities with "V" bottems designs on many hulls/molds. Strake designs, widths and strake curvatures are the best way to keep them apart and see the difference, besides beam widths. But of course you guys talking about CC's and many builders are going into CC's now. There not that many ways you can make a 34-38 CC's. Thay all pretty much similar hulls, some with steps some with out.
