If you do recover your equipment and don't do anything to fix it, can you take pictures of my boat ? It may be the only way my boat looks good. Good luck bro

When shooting photography professionally with the equipment, my Insurance company told me nothing is covered under Home Owners. A separate policy needed to be taken out for the equipment...

Jay I did some looking online from some of the photo sites I read from time to time to see if anyone had any luck with fixing the stuff after a dunk. All the ones I saw said no. The problem with salt is that it makes a great conductor so it can short across pins on boards. Beleive me when there are TONS of people that posted your same story so don't feel stupid.
I have dropped 2 in the water. One was my fathers Nikon, the other was my 110mm leica (or how ever you spell it). The leica I walked out into the water in the middle of Feb. in Rhone Island to take a picture of a bike that was in the water, lighting was great...... Started to shake from the cold and the damn camera slipped out of my hand. Was still able to develope the pictures and that camera being manual I was able to save. The bigest issue I had was that I had to send the lens out to get completely pulled apart to be cleaned between the lens. It was NOT cheap, but that camera was worth it to me as it was my Grandfathers, mothers, mine.

Very sorry to hear Jay....
I can't wait for this day to be over.
I have had nothing but mostly bad news all day...
Hoping for a better tomorrow although I already know tomorrow is not going to be easy either....

No Jay.
In this business, for us photographers to be creative, we all go to the extremes no matter what the risks are just to even get one good shot.
One of my high risks last January was to walk 100 feet out on an icy jetty and get a water level shot of Asbury Park's Convention Hall.
Not only to get my body down close without falling in, but to have the camera so low to the water and time it between the swell coming in...
I got lucky.....
Sorry to hear once again.
Should you need any equipment immediately I know in Philadelphia there is a company that rents equipment.
