Since Merc has built two different 575's, you need to confirm which one you are asking about.
I am pretty sure the older 575 is only rated at 525 hp at the prop and would need 92 octane while the 525 is rated for 525 hp at the prop and only needs 87 octane and does not have a supercharger. The choice between those two engines would be pretty simple in my opinion.
Now the newer 575, I will defer to others on that one, but I would think that is would be rated for 575 hp at the prop. (I would still go with the 525).

My 575sci's are rated at 550hp at the prop.....yes they are a little more work then a 525 because of the blower......but if I am not mistaken the torque on the 575sci is much greater.....and besides, isn't the blower whine worth the extra headache.....? "Winning"
