aftermarket has some nice stuff, but I used a pair of older merc 540 500hp bulldog covers once. bill at Diamond marine [302 521 0123] has some nice prices and lots of covers. polished or in colors. good luck

Why do you not want aftermarket?
You may be able to use your stockers if you grind out the little titties on the under side of the cover. You will also have to remove the baffle. You may have a problem with oil wanting to come out of the pcv grommet.
CP Performance has some nice cast aluminum covers that are pretty reasonable. Here ya go.

As Eddie said, stock valve covers will fit with slight modifications. All you need to do is grind off the oil drip tabs on the underside of the valve covers. Depending on which rocker arms you use, you may have to either modify the baffle or grind off a 1/4" of the corners on the #1 and #7 intake rocker arms. That is what Merc did on 525SC's and HP500's. The new Crane Golds should fit without any mods to the baffle or grinding the corners.

As they said above plus... Mr. Gasket Makes an extra thick VC gasket.

I bought a couple cheap chrome sets from Summit for like 30 bucks a pair and had no drippers to grind off. I'm both cheap and lazy

Default HP500 valve covers

Would an HP500 cover work? Didn't they have roller rockers from the factory.

They are the same ones you have with the little titties (drip tabs) removed.

A Dremmel is your friend. It takes longer to take the covers off than it does to grind out the tabs.
