Any RC boat owners? looking for a cat
Looking into buying a cat-twin electric. probably 34" or larger, and needs to be fast. Would like 70 plus mph.
Dont know the first thing about em and looking for advice where to buy and what hull, motors, batteries etc. |
Check out screamandfly.com, they have an R/C boat forum on their site
|
I have a 2 stroke Hydro well into the 90's
54inches long |
I just picked this up but have not run it yet. My friend is real big into Rc's and he turned me to this one. We were really inpressed with the fit and finish of the boat. It looks great and has the new brushhless outrummer motors..

The R/C Skater that was at the Skater booth in Miami was a Class one RC by Tom and Peter owns it it currently runs just over 100mph he also has the C5000 Mytics 1 of the Gieco boat you see on you tube that runs just around 100mph as well. Not too bad for r/c boats that cost in the $20,000 range considering the MHZ Jet-cat Spm-5 turbines are 5K each.
yes ther are also a lot of knowledgable poeple over at Jim's rc boat dock that will help you with any of your ???'s Good luck with whatever you get |
anyone on here know about these toys ?
I just picked this up as a gift for a young guy. I have no clue to date about the things to watch out for. Has a pull start gas engine in it. Water cooled. Never been in water. Business client won it at a fund raiser. http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...7/DSCN0359.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...7/DSCN0360.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...7/DSCN0361.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...7/DSCN0362.jpg |
I hope you can find these on youtube, Twin turbine rc miss geico (This is the shakedown run 4.40 min long) the other is miss geico rc turbine 2nd run (4.26 min long ) the first one is in a creek & just about stops traffic on the bridge in the background very cool.

That's a Pro-boat Miss Lumar Miss Bud Miss Elam etc etc depends on the Graphics. 43-45" 26cc stock zenoah 260 RTR boat should run 35-40 MPH. I have seen a few run not too bad for a "fun play" boat hydros in that class are running the RCMK RZ-254 evos or S-254 evos and with the JG V3 top ends and in the Whiplash hydro and seeing mid 80' low 90's. I have an old Hoover epoxy hydro with a V1 25.6 cc Zenoah and gettin 82mph oput of it.
Just watch the seams on the hull and be prepared for glasswork down the road nice looking hull but waaaayyyy underbuilt in the wrong places. I've had to do glass work on my Hoover hydro and paid 800.00 just for the hull but it's SUPER light. only a single layer of cloth and no gel but fast as H3LL!!! have fun with it !!!!! |

Dont know the first thing about em and looking for advice where to buy and what hull, motors, batteries etc. Go to www.offshoreelectrics.com Great site with a wonderful forum. Realistic information there, lots of racers. Tons of couch captains on rcgroups and rcuniverse sites, but OSE is great. A bit more depth and participation than rumrunnerracing, which is also a good site. Steve who operates OSE is a fantastic guy and a stand up business man. Has a good selection of items and ships really fast. Ask around before getting some of the venom products, some good and some are not so good. Lipo's are wonderful, but treat them well and respect them. Start off easy, you would be surprised at how a 40mph RC boat can get out of hand, 70 is NOT something for a novice. Lots of amps and bad things can happen to ESC and Lipo's inside the boat. Steep learning curve! |

Offshore electrics.com is where I found that 50" moped.
Think I'll paint it to match the Motion, maybe look into another carbon fiber one for some speed later on |
