Need professional opinions to confirm theory?
 

My trim tabs all the way up where level with the bottom my boats hull. I dont need the tabs except to level the boat when weight is to one side or another.

I am looking for a little bow lift on plain so I have drilled another hole to raise them up further. Logic tells me that when water passes past the back of th transom it rises up 1" every 4" back which is about how high they are up now.

I havent tryed it yet but it seems like it makes since to me? Whats your take??

just a thought , you mite need a better prop for bow lift , most step bottom boat's ride more bow heavy the a non stepped

Why do you want bow lift on a stepped boat? Is it running level like it should or bow down which can be very dangerous. What size boat? Never saw the new vs hulls8

27' 8" hull. new vs hulls8 Video?? Bow seems like it plows a little to much even when I trim up high. I want a little more control to stay dry in the rough stuff..

Testing props and I know it will help also.

TRy a better prop,, from the angle of the ram it's going to brake,i would not try it in that position..Also being in that position it will pull the tab back in rear motion whyle your boat is on plane..

I'm pretty confident it shouldnt break, ? The tabs down running 50 plus mph is far more abusive than them running it the up position.
You might be right but I dont see it? Please exsplain.

Have you check for a little hook in the hull? I removed just a little bit of hook out of my hull and made a world of difference of how my boat carried the bow. I know mine is not stepped.

i wouldn't mess with the tabs until you've exhausted prop choices and ruled out everything else...

Keep your tabs where they are. A physical property in naval architecture called the Coandă effect should raise your bow by bringing your tabs up, past the running bottom of your boat.... if the fwd bottom of your tab is level with the bottom aft of your running transom. Having said this, I'm still with the poster who said "why do you want bow lift on your stepped bottom boat?"

Also, using large k-planes to correct weight and balance in a performance boat is not only dangerous, it's inefficient. As the captain you should be manipulating your load to balance the boat without your tabs.
