Saw an old race boat yesterday (Lethal Weapon)
It was headed north bound on Grosebeck , on the back of a lowboy semi trailer.
It looked like a 30-33 foot cat. |
LETHAL WEAPON THE OLD RACE BOAT WAS A V BOTTOM APACHE COLOR WAS RED
|
And it's coming to ME!!!!!! :D :D :D :D
Guess that's why he didn't arrive today:p Coming to a poker run near you in the Spring of 2003:cool: |
I'm just telling what I saw :)
I'm just assuming it was an old race boat because it had "Lethal Weapon " in 3 foot letter across the side. :) |
Actually this one is a 28 Cougar Cat used to run the Silver Cup Series with triple outboards-But I don't think it was called Lethal Weapon at that time. It may have been black back then.

That's it !
I think Sparky from this board used to own it. |
YUP, that's who I bought it from-Great Guy!
|
Hey Ted;
You mean US :D :D :D |
Sounds familiar Ted, go from a mini-boat cat to a 28 cat and me a mini vee to a 28 vee. :D :D :D Good Luck with it!;)
|
Cool boat Ted, I have seen it at Sparky's many times. Good luck with the new toy! :D
|
i'll take credit for scanning the photos of the Cougar!!!
:D |
OSO Power
It's pretty incedible how anywhere in this country a person can be driving down the road and someone here on the board can describe the boat he/she saw and in no time it is identified who owns/owned it and what the story is behind it!! It just proves how many members there are here and how it is growing more all the time. The POWER OF OSO and it's members are shown daily!! :D ;)
|
Very Cool. The Power of OSO!
 |
I was pretty amazed to see a post about the boat when I saw it. It is pretty amazing how big the reach of OSO is and how small the performance boat world is:)
Thanks for the pics BoatChic they were helpful in making the decision. Hey Sharkey-you got any big outboards lying around???:D  A couple like the ones on the back of the Check would be fine:D And I don't need a capacity plate for this cat:D Apparently it was delayed in MI so we won't see it here till Friday-guess we'll have to use the other boats this weekend;) Scott-I do mean US, just keep that checkbook limber:D :D :D Got gas??? |
:D :D :D
|
Luvoffshore that’s pretty amazing! Our eyes are everywhere!
Best Regards:) |
Steve, you seem to have built many of the cats in the past 30 years-did you work on Cougars too??:)

Scream and Fly link: https://www.screamandfly.com/showthr...25#post3086425 1983 Race Pic, 28' CougarAfter seeing a 28' Cougar boat for sale in the classifieds, I thought I'd post a link to photos I took of this classic spin-out/crash of a 28 Cougar. The boat is "Smokey Cougar" raced by Steve Curtis during the 1983? World Championships in Key West. Apparently "Vicious" ended up with this boat and raced it as "Lethal Weapon", but switched it to small blocks and Arneson drives. |
Anyways was curious if it stayed small block surface drive set up or if it went back to out boards?
Thanks Jon |
Damn I'm getting old. I will tell Sparky about this thread this afternoon if he is in town.
