PRA Cape Coral, FL, Photos, 42 of them
Today was the Poker Runs America, Cape Coral event. The SW Florida weather did not
disappoint, it was warm and sunny, with temps around 72 and Northwest winds around
10 knots.
I was at the Lighthouse at Boca Grande Pass. The shots contain:
all the boats that came in from the Gulf, through the pass
the lighthouse and surrounding area
the phosphate pier
the chapel
the range light, lighthouse
Banyan street, so called due to the Banyans that line it
the causeway swing bridge, in an open position
Lemon Bay just north of the swing bridge
You will need to click the link below, which will take you to one of my pages at the photo website.

Thanks Dean,
Aqua Mania was the second boat I saw make the turn into Boca Grande Pass, coming from the Gulf. "Go Fast" did look like an OL V-bottom, but you have to remember how far away, I was shooting from. The red buoy in the third shot is 1.5 miles away, and the beach in the background of most of the close-up shots is 1 mile away. Most of the close-up shots were at 200mm, the maximum focal length of my lens
I saw 9 come through Boca Grand Pass, and 5 came out of the ICW. I stayed around for quit some time, talking to the lighthouse museum staff, but that is all I saw.
Thank you, coming from you, that means allot.
Were you ridding with someone?
The inlet seemed choppy, but nothing like Friday, it was really rocking and rolling. A small boat went over, and as of Sat morning the body had not yet been found.
I think I need longer, faster, professional quality "L" series, white Canon glass. I can dream, but it's not in the budget this year.

Great stuff Frank. It looks like you are hooked on a new hobby. Reading your posts it sounds like taking pictures and boating are similar from the standpoint of always wanting to upgrade or modify something

It is an OL Vee:
Good coverage Frank !
Sure beats being in the swamps of Soprano land yesterday...
As long as Frank doesn't mind, here is a close up shot for you Dean.

I did not see anything close to those speeds. I was at Boca
Grande pass, and everyone slowed as they made the turn
around the Johnson Shoals, running about 60 through the
pass. Those I saw acted in a safe and responsible manner,
in the turn and through the pass.
Eric,
You hit the nail right on the head!
Your new boat looks and runs great! See you in
2 1/2 weeks for the FMO season finale
Thanks.
I have know you since the days of you running the 13 bullet boat, how could I mind. Nice angle on your shot.
