Any Chevrolet Techs on OSO?
I have a 2002 Chevrolet 2500 HD 4WD extended cab truck. Only 68K miles and in great condition. This past weekend a steel brake line blew. I took it to a mechanic who advises me that all of the brake lines are brittle and all need replacement. I looked under the truck and the lines all are corroded badly. The rest of the underside shows no serious rust.
Does Chevy have a recall for this? Any help or advice is appreciated.

Thanks Ted, it looks like I might be hosed. I'm hoping Stainless Steel Brakes Corp or someone makes a complete stainless kit. I've bought 40 year old Corvettes that didn't have this much scale on brake lines. And they weren't garage queens. GM really screwed up on this one. It's a shame, it's been a great truck otherwise except for a number of failed calipers.

if you plan on bending your own try out of SS tubing try to find seamless tubing..the seam stuff splits when you flare it.
