there are so many variables....the lightest isnt the best, the heaviest isnt always the best, the most hp isnt always the fastest..and so on and so on.. its a mixture of everything combined..

Weight is generally more important to acceleration than top speed. Hydrodynamic improvements are superior to weight improvements.

Thanks, everyone. I appreciate the advice.

This especially:

Therefore, they have the same relationship: cutting the weight in half is the same as doubling the HP, doing either will increase your boat's speed by 1.4 times.

And this...

Buy what you like "Especially these Days", nothing worse then having an efficient ugly boat without a chance of resale.

Some boats run fast, but are ugly and no matter how fast they go, will not be the ones people want and you may be stuck in that tub forever.

Just a piece of advise.

A boat isnt a car it's not easy to gain speed or hp. I forgot the old saying but for everything over 65mph you need so much hp. And likes others have said keep in mind looks. I dont want to mention brands or people but some boats are flat out nasty looking and really only have a small niche market that likes them. But it all depends on what you are looking to do. For the average guy going 70-75 is pretty fast.
