paint or powder coat swim platform?
which would be better?
|
I had a painted one and it chipped very easy. I had it powder coated with two coats for $160. It turned out great and is very durable.

Paint is repairable.
|
Powder Coating would be my choice....Lasts alot longer, doesnt chip as easily and always has a very nice, glossy look when waxed and maintained regulary.....my .02....:drink:

I'm a big fan of Imron.
|
Weve had extremely bad luck with Powder Coat and salt water. Imron is very durable.

Just make sure when it's powder coated that it's properly stripped, etched and cleaned. Then request your shop use a powder primer before topcoat. This helps mechanical adhesion tons and is far more durable then straight topcoat

Powder Coat

Powder is much like paint in that prep is 90% of the game. I think a lot of people think its magic... It's not, but when applied properly can weather better then paint. Flaking and peeling powder is NOT right
