you did the Glass work on these boats, Please don't

Where did you work at when
you did these boats?.
My reason is you must be
older than "To Old" and
younger than Me.

fountain imm younger than too old im 34 i rember the red boat because it was riggedwith 3 225 merc in the race shop i tryed to spend as munch time in that part of the shop as possible tring to learn the year was 1992 93 too old great looking boat what all have you done to the sonic the gell or paint is beautiful

Of course it is alot easier to reglass a boat hull than fabricate a wing spar for an F4 Phantom

what a sham it is to see those bots sit there and rot. The trailers even look salvageable, maybe put a couple thousand, and you have a nice myco. of course, i was not there in person, and maybe they ae worse than they look............COME ON....i know SOMEONE wants to restore one.

Beaks have come because
I have seen Early boats
and sales info about
Fountain Power Boats and
they were Beakless.
Most of the people are
Owners but I have had PR
people at Fountain say the
Beaks have been there since the first boat.
I remember a story about
a race Raggie wanting to
run but the hull was to
short so he put the Beak
on and it looked good so
they kept it.
I have also been told the
Beak is there to give the
hull Aerodynamic lift.
A old trusted friend and
Very good throttleman and
I have had a Verbal debate
for a number of years, He
says All Fountains have
had Beaks, I say NO they
were Beakless.
I will see him this weekend at the races in
Longbeach calif. and will
print out some of the posts on this thread.
I need a photo.

Powerboat runs a classic cover at the rear of the mag. With in the past year or two (I don't remember when) it was on an earily Fountian, WITHOUT a beak. The hull was from an old Excalaber. You may be able to buy that issue from Powerboat.

My husband bought one these boats at auction in 1999. You can see it in the background of the attached pic. Its the only pic I have of that boat. It was taken in 1999 when Darrell got his new truck. The hull has the forklift holes on both sides and it is totally stripped. That same year we saw a guy from Maryland racing one these boats in Ocean City. It will take lots of sweat and $$ to restore this beast. For now its a cool yard ornament/toy for the kids.

The one from Maryland has been on E-bay about 6 times in the past year. It always goes to about 2000 and then shows up about a month later. It has been about 2 months since it was on the last time. A body shop near my house was the one that repaired and painted it. They were asking 20,000 for the hull, unrigged, but with a clean transom. I guess the guy that raced it got it from them.
