Mike J
Thanks for the response.
I have an old issue of Hot Boat that has an article in the reader rides where someone had restored a pre beak Fountian. It was also stated that the hull was derived from the old Excalibur mold. If I have time I will see if I can dig it up. Reggie does mention in one of his sales videos that the beak was supposed to generate bow lift and also gave it a unique profile that no one else would dare copy. To date, there was an all aluminum boat that was tested in one of the boat magazines, that looks just like a Fountian, beak and all. Doral boat Co. has a 30' cruiser that has a bow flair like fountian. Oh well, you know what they say, ''Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery''.

Insptech,
From what Avengerangel said, I guess they do put fork lift holes in them, but why not just destroy them totally so there would be no question about if they could ever be used again?

I have also seen an old US Custom's pre beak Fountian at a boat yard at Murells Inlet, Myrtle Beach SC years ago. Must be quite a few of these old things around.

I talked to my friend that was with me when we looked at the boats and he said the pic of the sign with the phone # of the salvage yard did not come out.

Chart---Flashback

I was at the Offshore race
in LongBeach CA. over the
weekend and had a chance
to talk to some people from Powerboat but they
could not help with the
Photos without some DATE
on when the photos ran.
Please don't go out of your way but if you run
across a issue please let
me know.
Thanks Mike J.
