I love my Proline CC and have had a ton of fun on it, may even do Tickfaw on it this year. I am looking to replace my Scarab with another CC. Have a 1 yr old and want something I can load up and go and not spend allday cleaning.

Yeah -if you want to do more than cruise or go fast, center consoles are nice. But if my son and I want to drop a fishing pole over the side of my '87 Formula 242, there's really nothing stopping us. It's in great shape, but it's an older boat, and it's not that big a deal.

Besides, it's not like I actually need a spot board to clean or store fish. Hell,I never catch anything anyway!

But theres a thread about that

I had one of those. Pretty good ride for its size. Put a huge subwoofer under the passenger seat. But could never get more than 35 mph with the 350 Mag.

There are many more comfortable boats around for people that don't fish much, like myself. I believe that the real allure and popularity with the center consoles lies with their outboard power. My boat has snap in carpet, and once pulled out, has a sealed cockpit. Not quite as neat and sprayable as a CC, but not bad.

After reading the many comments here, I'd now have to agree that Matt was spot on in his article.

I really havent much chance to run it yet, but so far it seems like the right choice for me. My last boat was a 42 Sonic. I never slept in it, just fixed stuff I did not use a lot. Plus I plan on diving off this boat.
It is a great layout for what I want, and as far as not being able to hear the motors I'm not so much of an attention whore that I need everyone to look at me.
