at a brief glance it looks to me Betty Cook is in the top 3, right behind
Al Copeland ..
She's my hero!

Betty was truly one of the greats. Got give alot of credit to any woman that can make such an impact in a typically male dominated sport. I will never forget how well she handled watching her boat fall out of a sling as it was being launched from a marina in jersey(many moons ago) As i recall it was the KAAMA scarab with the booted surface drives. (OUCH!) She took it in stride ,though. All in all a really nice lady, had the chance to talk with her a few times,. (sad to loose another offshore great ):(

She was a great lady, also not afraid to run the boat! In those days you went racing forget the sea conditions, also very long navigational legs, No GPS, and a real down to earth person who would take the time to talk to you.

:) :) :) :)
