Thru Hull Exhaust Question
I've got an older 221 Liberator and last year upgraded the engine significantly. The tips exit out the back on the sides similar to this. http://www.google.com/imgres?hl=en&s...A&tx=125&ty=67
The tips have baffles in them for noise (swirl) and anti back flow. This quiets it down to a reasonable level, maybe to reasonable. I called Corsa and they can custom make tips for it without a baffle so it will be straight through, but will have a back-flow flap inside for about $400 (I can't use standard since my opening is oval). How restrictive are these stock baffles? Do you guys think it's worth changing them?

Not restrictive at all.
basically theres two flaps in the tip that will fold out/or up in the even water backs up into the tip. Preety much lay flat when exhaust is pushed outwards throught the tip.
been a good product for me!

Here are some tips from CPperformance with built in flappers ,no mufflers. Since yours is side exhaust it's even more remote to get water surge into your exhaust valves.http://www.cpperformance.com/c-465-side-exit-tips.aspx
I did my through transom exhaust system recently with flappers and bought removable mufflers from Rex marine, in case the popo is around some of the lakes where noise levels are restricted.Had to fabricate the outside tips because of the compound curves different from what was available from vendors.

You mean the Corsa I assume, I know those are great, but do you think the stock ones are restrictive? They sure seem like they would be.
