Hey Joe , an old timer suggested to me not to name my boat after a wife or girl friend . after all those things some times change over the years . :party-smiley-004:

I think I can live with the names of my boats.
You know how long it takes to calm down a pissed off God? :drink:

My boat was named "Lady Avon" when I got it. Imagine, a bright yellow 25' Checkmate with loud thru hull exhaust... Lady Avon????
I was told the first owners boated on Lake Avon... somewhere in the NJ i think? It was 6"x12" decals on both sides just below the windshield. I scrapped them off and of course the yellow had faded over the years on the rest of the boat, so now had two bright yellow scripts on each side that said Lady Avon.
I painted the boat a year later and ran without a name for years then finally put "Knight Moves" on the transom without doing any sort of ceromony.

Boat has been been very good to me, I think it was happy to be rid of that awful name......

You're doooooooomed. ;)

Man, if all that naming rituals were true their would be no deadrises left in the Bay. I will say those that have done the rituals have had a mighty fun time until the next morning, lol.

Best wishes to you all.
