Dry Ice in the boat cooler ?

Thinking about using dry ice in my boat cooler. Stays frozen for days and doesn't melt into a watery mess.

Anybody have experience with dry ice ?

Any reasons not to use it ?

Thanks.

Works fine just made sure whatever you use it in is vented.

Had a buddy use it on a camping trip he wrapped it in a towel and stuff still froze in his cooler but it might have been touching the ice

From what I understand. To keep things cold put the ice on bottom , and to freeze , place the ice on top.

we used some dry ice once to cool down some room temp beer -- i think it was a 7 count as we rolled the can on top of the ice -- just before it froze up.
I think its a great idea -- i wonder if there is some type of plastic container or something that you could stick it in so it doesn't touch the beverages or someones fingers don't get froze up?

i use it with regular ice when i go to powell for a week.keeps the frozen food good for at least 3 days. aint got the guts to try it for my beer though:drink: works great.

This is for regular ice but oif you want to make it colder put salt on it!

Put something between the dry ice and the floor of your cooler. Otherwise, the intense cold will crack your cooler.
