Default Problem child survived the weekend !!

Dragged the powerplay up north to the house friday. Filled her up and dumped her in the drink.. last year with my the stock 270 hp 350 it would spin a 21 at 4600.. I had three props to test.. it smoked the 13 1/4 x 23. then I put on a 14 1/4 x 24 and she spun that at 5400. I am gonna probably end up witha labbed 25.. She is a wild handling girl... Put 6 1/2 hours on it this weekend.. The last ride tonight I had low oil pressure so we dragged her back home and gonna inspect a little tommorrow...

I felt pretty good, a guy in a baja who picked on me last labor day was back.... hehe I had 6 on board and we spanked him pretty good

It was a good weekend, other then my oil issue I am very happy with this motor...

Hope everyone had a good weekend...

Glad to hear that you are happy with the new engine. Hope the oil pressure problem is minor.

Hey Trav,

you left out one detail, what kind of speeds were you seeing? Major differences between the props or just the rpm being way different.

Default Oil pressure

Traviss-
If the motor is new, did you use moly cam lube for break-in? that stuff will plug a filter in about 30 minutes. Also, do you know what oil temp was?

Good luck

red stripe... don't know speeds yet,, didn't have a GPS this weekend.. I know the stock motor with the 21 at 4600 gave me 58.3 mph.. details later on that studd.. gotta get her fixed first..

whos got the formula...

24" pitch , 5400 RPM , 1.5 gear ???

Havasu hangin.. I ended up with vortec heads and a crane roller cam 222/230 duration .509/.528 lift ( but used 1.6 rockers made it .543/.563 lift) on a 112 LSA. Rpm airgap intake, 750 holley, 9.9:1 comp ratio.. and EMI exhaust.. ,blah blah blah

Bulldog.. Yeah we used the Gm valvatrain lube. I already changed the oil and filter once. the oil temp is around 230 at WOT. my oil comes outta the block to the remote filter housing then to the oil thermostat, then to the cooler, then back to the block.. We think its just alot of restriction for this oil pump.. stock pressure but High volume Mellings.

we'll see later tonight when dad gets home, We have three spots to check for oil pressure with a mechanical gauge.. so we wil go from there.

Travis: Glad you like the new motor. I hope that you find the oil preasure deal to be something stupid, cheap, and simple.
