After much fighting with youtube, I got the video up playing with the hydrothunder... 5 People, a weeks worth of gear, just topped off on fuel and water, so I was SLOW, but he was slower

Skip to 4:30 for the best stuff...

You're killing me, I want to do that run so bad, but I've got to wait another few months until we get down there for "good"

Water looks pretty nice, about what average speed were you going.

Crossing the gulf we ran very conservatively at 3k to 3200 RPM for fuel consuption purposes. That put us somewhere in the low to mid 40 mph range. On the way down we did have to slow down for a while when the wind and waves were right in our face. No sense in beating the boat all to hell so we just slowed up and pushed through them very comfortably at 30 or so.

In the video loaded with all the crap I just touched 70 MPH when we went by the other boat.

Great Pics!! I am in for sure for this trip, just trying to decide if it will be Christmas or hold off to April or so..

You will love the trip.

We are a PIB quite a bit, we will be up there on Memorial day for sure. If you are up there look for us on B-Dock, I'll buy you a beer and share some of what I learned down in the keys.

Great post/story, thanks for sharing. Trips like that make memories and stories that last a long time. BTB is an inspiration to us all.
