Slips in Newport

Does anybody have any suggestions on where to rent a slip for a few days in Newport? I'm going to call the Dunes and get info from them, but figured I'd ask and see if anybody has other suggestions. I'm looking for a slip to use for Thurs-Sun this weekend...

Also, is there an area at the Dunes to flush the motor in the boat after putting it back on the trailer?

Thanks!!

I do not know about the slips but I do know that they have wash down stations. Have fun.

Thx for the info. I called the Dunes and it looks like I have a pretty good chance to get a slip....$30 a night for the slip and I need to bring quarters and a hose for the wash rack....

Yup and make sure you put in enough quarters for the wash so that they thing does not shut off while you are flushing the motor:eek:

I took advantage of Newport Dunes this past weekend. I brought my boat down from East LA, where I store, to the Dunes on Friday evening. I was able to dis-connect the boat&trailer and leave them there until I was ready to launch on Saturday morning. After a full day of boating, I left the boat at a friends dock and left the trailer at the Dunes for Saturday night. Sunday, got up early, had breakfast and the paper on the boat, took a rundown around Laguna with DougieFresh and Jeffrey, had lunch at the Cannery in Newport Harbor, floated over to Hooters to watch Kobe, Shaq and ROBERT HORRY. Took the boat back to the Dunes, loaded it on the trailer and flushed the engines. I left the boat/trailer in the lot overnight. Monday afternoon, I cruised over to the lot and pulled the rig around to the wash ramp. Cleaned up everything and took it back to East LA. The total charges for using the Dunes over the long weekend were $45. This works perfect for me since I work in East LA (free storage) and live about 1 mile from the Dunes.

So Steamin', if you don't have a slip, you can store it on the trailer overnight at the ramp.

One more thing ..... they have security 24/7.

Cigarette1,

Thanks for the info. I'm new to ocean boating and am trying to get some time on the new boat... I'll check out the Dunes this weekend...

OK,

It looks like I am not having any luck getting a slp at the Dunes this weekend. I also called Lido Dry stack and they don't have anything for this weekend...Any other suggestions? I can always just keep the boat on the trailer overnight, but it would be nice to have it sitting in the water instead of needing to launch it....
