American flag on sponsons??
 

When I was a Desert Storm last weekend I noticed alot of boats with the American flag on the inside of the sponsons. What is the meaning behind this? I think it looks cool and have thought about doing it also, but wanted to see if there is some kind of meaning behind it first before I do it because I don't want to upset or offend anyone.

I know its required on race boats

Great, thanks for the replys. I just didn't know if it was a certain organization, X military, or some other meaning so I just wanted to check with people first before I just ran out and did it.
