Traded for a Center Console

I have to say getting rid of my boat has been a lot harder than I would have thought. Its supposed to be the 2nd happiest day of boat ownership???? Not for me.
Boat is on its way to Oregon and coming back is a nice family cruiser, so my wife and kids can start to enjoy boating with me on a more regular basis. I thought about being a two boat owner but after talking to some people on the board, I decided because of our short season in upstate NY it would be in my best interest to get a CC that seems to be very versatile. The deal has gone great with Tim from Oregon Custom Marine. He was always there to answer all my questions, and trust me I have had alot. Tim has gone above and beyond when it came to customizing the boat to my liking. Stereo, GPS, and LED's all were done on site and they look great. (I had to play with this thing a little bit). After being beat up and dissappointed by so many other people that operate buisness's in the boat industry, It was nice to deal with a straight shooter that was all about the customer. Cheers to growing up and going slow. :drink: |
Well, what did you buy?
|
Will you have the new CC at the LG event?
|
I got a 360 Spectre Roadster.
Yeah I will be at there but I havent asked if the boys are gonna want me to run in the event. I did get the invite but that was before the trade. We will see. |

Congratulations on the new boat, I guessing you got the one with the 350s. Very nice looking boat. I was wondering how you are handling the towing of that boat with the beam being over 8'6"? I know you can get permits, but for regular towing what would you do?
P.S. Post some completed photos. :drink: |
Realy???
Blame it on the the wife and kids? Come on!:grinser010: Good luck with the new ride, Im sure it very nice or you wouldnt have made the move. Look forward to seeing it soon. |
Are you and "Chuck" both going from 36 NT Cats (both orange/blue) to 36 Spectre CC's, both living in the Northeast, or am I going crazy?

Thought at first these two turn-coats were losing it also. Now it seems sensible and admirable. That being said, keep them things out of the way of the fast boats !!:evilb: |
Good luck with the new boat. Hope to see it at the swamp or up in the bay. We just purchased "how should I put it" a floating playpen that rides on aluminum cylinders and tops out at about 20mph:eek: but I am still keeping the Fountain for now!

I did get the blue and orange one with the 350's. I thought long and hard about this move and it really has been tough. I loved my nor-tech and letting it go was a very tough decision. The factory support from those guys is awesome.
I really didnt think about the towing part of this boat. Ill probably only do northeast runs with it and I guess I'll just be crossing my fingers. I've towed several thousand miles in a convoy with a super wide cat and have never had a problem. I definitely feel like I've gone crazy. But I will let you know for sure after I have a full day of boating and hanging out on the thing all day. Im hoping I dont feel so sh*tty after that. I have some low quality pics of some of the install and I'll post what I have. Tim was going to shoot a video of the end result and I'll get it up when I get it. I really thought I would get more abuse than this. I should have posted sooner. I think Chuck already got the brunt of the abuse. |
I am surprised Terry didn't hook you up with a Nor-tech CC. I am sure the Spectre CC is nice but it's not a Nor-tech. I looked high and low when deciding on a new CC and the Nor-tech was a easy choice. Mine is in the paint booth as we speek at Nor-tech. I hope you have good luck the 350's i would have bought them if it wasnt for the fuel issues and warrinties.

New boat is on the way to New York. :coolcowboy:
The upgrades I did were stereo, GPS, underwater LED's, and some LEDS throughout the boat. I love the lit up cupholders. Tim handled the whole install from start to finish. I havent seen the finished product but from the looks of the photos I love the way it came out. I basically gave him my budget and let Tim have at it. I was a little concerned at first about running the high test gas in the 350's, but then as I read about the verados and from what I understand the 300's need high test to obtain peak performance so I probably would have ran it in those too. I was looking at searays and comparable cruisers of that sort at first and it was Chuck that hooked me up with Tim to get this ball rolling on a center console. I have to say I was concerned with dealing with someone on "the other side of the country" at first, but Chuck told me Tim was helping him with the new build and he would make me feel comfortable about the distance. I couldnt be happier about deciding to go the CC route opposed to a cruiser style. Overall although bummed about going the "practical route" with this boat. Tim was able to create this boat into something I am extremely excited about. I feel he was more concerned about me liking the final product, than he was cracking me on the upgrades. I still hope to hit all the poker runs in the northeast so I can hang with you guys, so if anyone needs a ride I'll have plenty of room for passengers as long as you dont mind running in the back of the pack.:lolhit: |
Remember the dependability, you won't always be at the back and will always finish.:drink:
