High Performance Boat dealers?

Who are the top rated dealers now? Just wondering who has the best reputation and moves the most boats?

ActiveFun 05-10-2011 02:00 PM

I had a great easy experience with Fastboats

FASTDESTIN 05-10-2011 02:36 PM

Legendary Marine is receiving over 2K hits a day from worlwide location's. Are you interested in selling or are you looking to buy.

mpally 05-10-2011 02:53 PM

Performance Boat Brokerage at LOTO is moving inventory pretty quick. Most of it is high dollar stuff as well.

Fountain4402 05-10-2011 02:53 PM

Probably hard to say. Theres going to be opinion and then there are probably numbers. And alot of boat dealers probably arent on the internet and dont need to be and do very well. I ve heard of shrogren but have heard good and bad things about them. I also think there stuff is high priced. I have gotten a few parts from them and werent bad to deal with

It sure seems that Performance Boat Brokerage at Lake of the Ozarks sells alot of stuff. Everything from "smaller" boats to the high dollar stuff. Besides being "just a broker" they are also have a full shop. I have never heard a bad word from anybody that has done business with them.

Matt Trulio 05-10-2011 04:24 PM

While every performance-boat dealer—every business of any kind for that matter—will have unsatisfied customers, the two dealers I consistently hear the high praise for are Pier 57 and Shogren Performance.

I know there are other strong dealers out there (probably some of those mentioned in this thread). But the ones I "hear" (key word, since I've never done business with either of them) about most are the two I mentioned.

Performance Boat Brokerage on Lake of the Ozarks would be my opinion. Brett has offered to help me even though I never bought from him. At the very least I'd go for a dealer that has boats actually on the water. Seems like an easy way to run it... Get a survey !!!

Griff 05-10-2011 06:14 PM

Performance Boat Brokerage and Shogren are most likely close to the top of the list.

JMPH 05-10-2011 06:36 PM

Been looking for a few months,I have talked to most , the one that took the time was Scott from Shogren's . If he had what I wanted , we would come to a deal.
I think he's realistic with pricing also.
I also hate all these boats for sale with no prices, then you call and the prices change day to day .

I think Scott is very realistic on his prices, but some people who broker their boats through him are not. If a boat is only worth 75k and the owner owes 125k, good luck convincing the owner to list it for 80k

SS930 05-11-2011 07:08 AM

Why do you ask Brian? Are you thinking of doing a dealer network?

Well, I wanted to list mine and he tried to convince me to list it lower, I didn't thinking it is worth more, But he warned !!

maybe so, and Im doggin them for that. But if it were me I wouldnt take on a boat with unrealistic sellers. thats just me.

Not against shrogren but I think better prices are to be had from pvt sales. People say well brokers this or that, I have seen just as many horror stories from brokers as pvt sales. Either way you better take a good look at it your self and hire a independent inspector that the borker DOESNT reccomend.

dodgeman111 05-11-2011 11:04 AM

I agree totally with Fountain4402. I have learned that an independent inspector is well worth the money.

I bought two boats from Randy at Fastboats and both deals were very smooth. I think what sets him apart from others is that he is in a market where the trade isn't seasonal and that gives him the ability to step up more than others IMO.

cdowns 05-11-2011 11:15 AM

Im going out on a limb here, But i would go with PIER 57...:coolcowboy::drink:

I seem to get more tire kicker calls lately. Thinking about looking for a quality dealer. We build everything from 18ft to 41ft. Lot's of good information here.

I met w/ them. Nice guy's.

BattleCry 05-14-2011 09:15 PM

Pier 57! Everything was represented well and description was as described over the phone. Very easy to deal with and everything went smooth. Dealing with David and Carey was a pleasure.

Chuck 10-05-2011 12:55 AM

With all the members on OSO I'm kinda surprised how short this list is. With all the boats on this site there must be more owners on here who have had a positive dealer experience. Give your dealer some recognition in these challenging times.
