(Not mine.) i no my old 38 ec ran 60 with 425 hp a side i no it's not a fountain but it's a twin step and should run quick for a cruiser :) |
Schwing!
|
I was told it's go'n 2 Bay Harbor just outside Petoskey MI!!!:coolcowboy:
|
Bad to the bone:coolcowboy: A fun poker run boat right there, and a nice "sleeper" too:lolhit:
What is the x-dim on that kind of setup? Just curious. |
Chuck that has you written all over it!
|
Whose counting anyway?
I hope the new owner has his own personal gasoline company, even with the great Ilmor set up its gotta be going thru fuel at speed like a fiend with that beam and weight. Guess if you can afford the boat, the fuel cost is a non-issue, that's no cheap package! Hope they don't have to bottom paint that nice trick bottom!
Best Regards, Ray @ Raylar |
no test numbers on it yet????

I'm just getting used to the concept of a pair of Hering prop cases sitting on the teak floor next to the full-size fridge and wineglass rack. The interior is full of carbon fiber and blue LED's.

The dang boat has EVERYTHING in it!! I was on the boat today for the initial water test. Props are being made as we speak. Im not posting any results as I feel like either Formula or the owner should release that info. It went well though.
PS- The Formula guys are great |
Wow that is nice,

I did a couple of 500 EFI Whipple motors for a 400 SS about 4 years ago. It ran Bravos and he ran the snot out of it. Never did break anything. That boat does not like smooth water. We saw days it would hardly break 70 to other days it would run well up in the 70's. Never saw even close to 80 though. I'm guessing in the ocean it would have run a lot faster. He sure surprised a lot of people with it! Unfortunately he passed away last fall. Eventually that boat will be up for sale if they ever get his estate settled.

Bad azz cruiser for sure. I love it!!

He kept it at Northshore. It's still there. Silver/white named Toxic Waste II. He owned a company that cleaned up toxic spills. He bought it from South Austin Marine about 5 years ago with stock 500 EFI's. I added Whipples in '07. Then went back and rebuilt engines with AFR heads and custom cams in '09. It made 880 HP on the dyno. He never had it for sale since he bought it.

This formula looks hot! Reminds me of this boat:

that whole boat is HOT!!!! Love the Power, Drives and the cabin colors and layout.
Have fun with it |
I think this is the start of the next racing series.
|
I'm a huge Ilmor fan, but not for this application. This boat needs diesels.

only on the 40PC they have NOT on the 40SS the diesels and pods are way to heavy for the 40SS
|
Pods are only efficient up to a certain speed. After that, stern drives win out because of less hardware drag in the water. Pods are, however, way, WAY more efficient than classic underwater shaft drives.
