Matt,
You NEED to attend. It is real, down to earth boaters doing what they love.
I participate and have a close personal relationship with Stu Jones of the FPC. Stu has great events in my region but I will drive 16 hours for the Jammin' Run. Not saying others aren't worth the trip but this one takes the cake!
Call me Monday. Active Thunder is going to cover your travel expenses and meals. Shack and the crew will more than likely cover your room and find you a ride. You just need to show up and kick back with the most laid back hi-perf boaters you will ever meet.
Don't miss this run down the prettiest, natural winding river in America. Followed by the craziest party you will EVER attend.
Miller Lites on me all weekend.

Yeah, the guys I met seemed as down to earth as it gets. I didn't get to spend nearly enough time with them. Looking forward to doing that. Let's touch base Monday.
