you are incorrect the first 48 was a 1991 with triple 6's aka "apache express" it was rigged by apache owned by phil feldman and juan almeida and it was raced to victory by vanilla ice in 1991 ...... it ran over a boston whaler or some small boat one night after a party.... which apparently had no lights

A guy in CT owned the boat. A buddy has a VHS tape all about the boat.

There's another 48 Ocean Express that has just been sitting and rotting away in CT. Such a shame. The guy that owned Apache Express in CT had it in the mid 90's I believe.

Forgive my memory, I thought the Juan/Phil boat was the same hull, only repowered as one of Juan's publicity stunts. I think you are correct about the year, what year was the hull that I'm thinking of? It had to be before 1994, I think?
