Anyone recognize these connecting rods ?
 

They have no markings on them . From a picture in a magazine they look like Billet style rods made by "crower" Any ideas ?
ALso they don't seem very light to me if that helps . Thanks

here is what happens on a blower motor when things aren't just right ! NOt sure exactly what caused it but it was running a little hot (180-190) , intercoolers were plugged limiting water flow through motor , and could maybe have water getting in cylinder from exhaust . It took the top edge off piston above rings and severely scuffed the skirts on the cylinder walls on a few other pistons . :confused: B.O.A.T. (Brake out another 'couple' thousand ) !:confused:

Audiofn , I got them from way down deep in that tight a$$ engine compartment ! You know , the one you have to stand on your head to do everything ! :rolleyes:

I need help desperatly to I-D these rods ! Does anyone know who makes them for sure ? I need rod bushings and they seem to be an odd size .If I know who made them ,I could get them .

They are BB chevy , 6.535" long , for a .990" pin . the problem is the small end on the rod is 1.050" ,which is an odd size for some reason . Manley has 1.040"(too small ) or 1.094(too big ) To machine it down would work but very time consuming and costly .

You might also ask Innovation Marine in Sarasota. They use Crower cranks and rods in a lot of their applications, including military engines. (Sorry - lost the phone number.)

they look like a set of oliver rods, do the caps on the big end have a dowel pin or serrated edge?

and do the wrist pins oil through a hole drilled from the big end to the small end or do they have a hole on the small end only?

Joe, that is not a current Oliver,Lunati,Manley or Crower I beam rod. It is heavily peened and smoothed. Call Oliver in Grand Rapids. They make a thin wall bushing and can probably machine the bushings to the rod spec. That is a strange looking rod. Dan

Dan ,Thanks , I'll try it . I found the old add where my boat was for sale a couple owners ago . It was in NY. The guys name is Dennis .He owns a machine shop ! Didn't get to talk to him yet . He's too buisy ......... MAybe he can shed some light . I'll try Oliver too .Maybe they will at least answer the phone !

I have a set of billet Crower rods and they look nothing like those you have. I also have a set of billet Lunati rods and they look nothing like those either. Good luck.
