"Boat looks awesome. One question - why does that bus look like it's in a slip?"
It's a rather large water taxi ;) |
I'm with Scott ! NIce boat but whats the bus doing anchored in the lagoon ?
|
Sweet Ride!
..but about the bus??..:p
|
Dan, SCHWEET!!!
So do you think with some more tweakin you will see higher #'s than 91? What conditions was the 91 mph in? Rough, smooth, light chop what? You going to tinker with Blower pulleys or drive gears or just props? and most importantly, How does she sound, blowers screaming with no hatch covers??? Hug the chubby over here man! Jason |
Jay,
It was the first time the boat was out, and proped with 30's which were way to small. We were bummping the limiters with plenty of hp and throttle left. My quess is we will be around the century mark +-a couple of mph. The only things we are tweeking with is props. Dan |
Cool man, sounds great
Good luck with it and Hopefully after my engines are done, Ill see you out on the river (if you want to hang with us LOL) See ya soon Jason |
I am down with meeting up on the river.:D
|
Looks awesome!!! Is the hatch optional equipment or do they throw that in?
|
I really want Pat and Steve's job. That's a rough way to have to spend a weekend in the office.
Good luck on the trail runs Dan. We are waiting for those top notch results with activeanticipation.:D |
Yeah ill meet up with ya if I can ever get this bucket of **** to run
Going to pull both engines tomorrow and drop them off at the shop for rebuilds and some HP tweaks Ill be in the same "boat" as you are now trying to dial it in in 2-3 weeks when I install the engines back in and get them all setup and running. What a pain in the ass this all is but in the end it will be totally worth it Good luck with yours and ill talk to you soon Jason |
I agree: awsome looking pics!!!
BUT WHAT'S WITH THAT BUS???? |
bus......
I have seen that bus going up and down the New river and the intercoastal before....it is a water taxi of sorts.......
|
Nice photos! I see you're not using intercoolers. How many pounds of boost are you running and what is your compression ratio?
TIA |
The motor has a 9:1 compression ratio and runs a tad less than 3 pounds of boost. I can, however, add an intercooler and change the pulleys and get a relaible 850hp. ;)
|
Then your totally smart how you had Keith E set them up for you
Your what 650 each now? Smart move!!! Chillers are always on sale in Classified section too pretty cheap Just a thought................... Jason |

Krrp the pics coming!! {see,I cant even type}:D |
Hey Dan glad to see your getting close! I have been dying to hear what was going on with your sea trials so I finally called Steve on Thursday! I have to agree with Jassman I think your going to end up at 104+. Now that I have seen pictures of your boat in the water, I think were going to end up going yellow on FAST FORWARD! I have been pretty busy this last week so I have not had an opportunity to call you. It looks great, and can't wait to find out how the trials go this weekend with different props. I'm actually going to be on the water next weekend with a friend in his 38' Powerquest. It will be fun and difficult at the sametime knowing FAST FORWARD is a long way off.
|
Too Cool!!!!!
I am so glad to see you in the water! |
The bus is Patricks new tow vehicle!!!! Very nice Dan!! You are a lucky man!! Are you going to bring her down to the chesapeake this summer? I'll have to get some in flight pictures for ya. My wife and me take alot of pictures, only problem is that we don't have any of our own boat on the run. Someday......someday.
|
I may come down for a weekend to the chesapeake for a weekend. If so, I will take a couple of pictures of your boat on the run for you. I have always wanted to run down there, just never had the chance.

E-mail me or call 610-695-8997 when you are going to come down. I'll stock up on the fast film. I'll even take the video camera out of the mounting bracket in the v-berth!! WHOOPS.. did I say that! Come down to Chesapeake City and start the run to Red Eyes! Of course we'll stop at Jellyfish Joels for a drive thru!:p
|
That sounds like a great time. Keep me posted if you have any runs or gathering scheduled. I would love ot run down to red eyes. Is it real difficult to get overnight slips at Red Eyes?
|
Try to get down every weekend now that we keep it in a Hi & Dri at Tomes Landing. We entered a Poker Run on the 21,22,23rd of June ( THUNDER on The Bay) no kidding with the name. Docking at Red Eyes is always available except on some holiday weekends but we never seem to have a problem. Dockage is $2.25 a foot on regular days/weekends and $2.50 a foot on holidays. Are you doing the New York Poker Run?
