Don,t worry about it ,it will run nice with 2 x 225 hp outboards ,I did a Scarab 31 Viper that had 2 x 454,s with bravo,s to 2 x 225EFI Mercury outboards ,the boat run 62 MPH with no prop tweaking at all ,no engine height ,I just used a stainless marine bracket with 20 inch setback and centerline lowers even with the bottem ,and it run great.
Have no info about how the boat ran with the 454,s as I bought it with no power ,but I guess the boat would have run 65-67 mph with the twin big blocks ..
I use 24 pitch choppers ,and still have 200 rpm left (5600 rpm ,and 5800 is the max) I think when I had some more /better bow lifting props with 4 blades it would have run 66 mph too

Contact Billy Frenz at the N.P.B.A. (National Powerboat Association) I think he may be Frenzy on the forum. He did just that on his 33 Fountain and I think he still has the boat. I do remember it having triples though.

Those 225's will make one slow mofo.

Re-glass the transom, sell the 225's and get a good pair of 502 mag's or 496HO's with B1's and run it like you stole it.

Good luck with it.

goosesgarage, To give you a comparision I did over a MAGNUM SEDAN. When I bought it in '98, it had 225 Merc's on Gil brackets, motors were mounted too low, than 1 blew up. I than found a pair of 300 Pro Max w/SportMaster lowers, installed a Stainless Marine 18" bracket, IMCO steering & 4-blade 24* props... boat did 71GPS. Next I purchased a pair of 300 X motors & labed props... runs 80GPS today !!! PM me for more info on your build. "HIGH LIFE"

You can do it but will need triples for sure, or two BIGASS outboards, like V-8 Evinrudes or V-8 Yamahas.

Trip 225s should be able to get you so-so performance

You are correct. Founain did build some with outboards.

With a set of 500 hp big blocks and the TRS's, she will run real nice.
