Mercruiser 6.2L Motor Squeek
We have a squeek in our port side motor. It is not a constant squeek. The funny part is, once the motor is warm the squeek goes away completely. We just put new belts on, so i am thinking that might be the culprit. Maybe its not tight enough and slipping a bit. Any other suggestions or opinions on what it could be? I was thinking a bearing might be going somewhere but I wouldnt think that would go away after the engine is warm.

spray some belt dressing or wd40 prior to start up, and see if the noise go away.

Rub a bar of soap on the inside face of the belts....:coolcowboy:

Could be a tight sea water pump from sitting all winter.Take the belt off and spin everything by hand,Is it coming from the front of the engine?Have you greased your gimbal bearing lately?.
