triple 300 prop set up for 36' concept
I just bought a 2004 36' Concept with triple 300 Yamaha's and was wondering if anyone had any info on the proper set up for this boat? I have Bravo I 26's on her now and she does 68 MPH. I would like to get 75-80 MPH out of her, if possible.

are you planning on adding some more engines??? Unless the prop set up is completely wrong its unlikely that you will get more than a few mph out of a prop change. How does the boat come on plane, maybe you can gain some speed raising the engines if they aren't already on the highest holes.
You will need to give us some more info, at what RPM are you getting 68MPH? |
i'm running 5100-5200 RPM's at 68 MPH. I also can raise the motors about 1 1/2" if need be.

i also plane out in about 5-6 seconds.

Don't wast your time or money, be there and done that, with a 36 with tripple 300xs and only got 74 on it's best day. Boat does not like tripples, they are to heavy for that hull.you will have handling problems. I spent a lot of time and money. If you want I can tell you everything I did.

Great, great boats for what they are but you can't make her in to some thing she isn't. Think of a "go fast boat" and then imagine putting trip V6's running Alpha drives on a conventional V bottom. Imagine if you saw a 36 Gladiator rolling up to the dock with trip small blocks and Alphas. Yea, I know it is stepped and it a true 36 and so on but you get the picture. Use her, abuse her, squirt her off and she'll be ready for it again the next day but she'll never be ready to go 80 all the time. |
thanks guys. this info really helps. i love the way she handles and speed isn't everything to me, right now. I'm going to run her until I'm ready to buy a go fast boat. Not to replace her, just to be able to go faster.
