Powerboat Magazine: Smith Power Correction/Clarification
In the “Powers That Be” engine-builder roundup story that ran in the last issue of Powerboat magazine, it was misreported that Tyson Garvin has built piston engines for Smith Power for the past nine years. That was incorrect. Brad Smith is the engine builder at Smith Power. Garvin, who is building the rotary engine—with Smith—that was featured in the article, is an investor in Smith power.
As the author of the story, I apologize for any misunderstanding or confusion the error may have caused.

Thanks for trying to clairify that Matt.
I wondered when I saw it, why no one seemed curious to know who "Smith" was, being that Tyson's last name is Garvin, working for Smith Power.
Brad Smith is the man behind the curtain, and always has been. Tyson has indeed helped Brad with various jobs in the past.
Some of us have been working with both of them for many years, & Brad has always been the one that has the most to do with building all of the engines that Smith Power builds. He has been doing this since he was barely a teenager & doesn't do a single thing half-assed.
Thanks again for at least trying to clairify for those that do not know the company as well as some others.
