It was meant to be a little razzing ..Please go back and read carefully ..I guess sarcasmn doesn't show well in text.. I was jsut being sarcastic with the cheese wine thing ..and sort of sympathized with the fact ive gotta work every weekend this summer ..Then he replied with a comment about not finding any work bla bla bla... DIDNT THINK THE CAOMPLAINERS COMMENT WAS SUCH A BIG DEAL..

DO NOT allow ANYONE to test your boat without YOU at the controls.

I WILL NOT sea trial a boat without THE OWNER or HIS AGENT
(captain) at the controls, as I've had SEVERAL encounters with unscrupulous owners who said,

"THAT wasn't broken when I brought it in".

(Didn't say you were like that, you seem to have run into the kind of A$$holes who give mechanics who are trying to earn an honest living a bad name)

BEST advice I can give you is to spend all the free time you can spare hanging around the place that has held you hostage offering to HELP with a big smile on your face...they'll begin work JUST to get rid of you. Wash/wax the boat, and fiddle with as many things as you can while you're waiting.

Yea, I know, it sucks,
but if ya kill 'em the powers that be
will throw you in jail
JUST like you slaughtered a human being.

Hey guys, thanks for the support.

Pantara, I took your post as both sarcasm and implying I am a whiner. Just a note, don't kick someone when they are down, even in jest. But I don't hold it against you. I shot back and that was good enough.

Ken,

Sorry to hear about your circumstances. But sad to say, I don't think it's confined to the North East.

But, If you do find utopia...let us know!

Cool

The best advise I can give to boat owners is--LEARN TO DO YOUR OWN WORK AS MUCH AS YOU CAN--IF YOU CAN'T DO IT FIND A FRIEND WHO CAN.

Fred (TooOld)---

I knew you were having some work done on that Sonic you bought but can't remember what all you have to do to it. I JUST got mine in the shop Friday---should be done with the new transom and stringers within 2 weeks. Then I have to re-rigg the boat....my cousin and I will do that. Hopefully I'll have it running by the end of June---but you know how that goes and I'm certainly NOT holding my breath either!
