Need props, who besides BBlades?
Im not going to go into my issues, all im gonna say is summer is half gone, i have a trip this weekend and a long july 4th trip next weekend..... and no props!
Who can i call who can either do test props or can shoot pretty close and sell me props? I need something this weekend. Im not going to badmouth vendors, im not going to get into the coulda shoulda woulda discussions. Any suggestions? |
My local prop guy, buddy and the owner of the boat I race in the Parker 300, owns R&R Prop Shop in Henderson, NV. Very knowledgeable and friendly guy, with new and used props in the shop. He can sell you props, and as long as you don't damage them, if they don't work, he will apply their value towards different ones. Call Kevin at 702-564-7502. http://www.randrpropshop.com

There is plenty of info on here and just plain common boaters knowledge of where to buy props. You clearly are trying to say something about BBlades by posting like this. Do yourself a favor and repost this " Need Props" and take the suggestions that arent Bblades if thats really the case. All this is gonna do is get a fire going and Brett has way to good of a report with these guys and in the long run you will have a few people ragging you and no more knowledge on where to get what you need than u already have. Not trying to be a Di$k just stating the obvious |
I have some for sale what do you need?

Not trying to be a Di$k just stating the obvious OP, other than the commercial prop shops, I would check with Mercury to see what they can offer you off the shelf. |
Forgot to mention Hering (if you have a little more in the budget).

I know Brett well. If he is busy, or hard to get a hold of? or something is an issue? I'm sure it can be resolved. I don't agree with the tone of the post. It's not needed. Most of us have spare props. Most of us will glad to help out another boater, most of us have. If I need a set of props for a weekend... in a couple of hours I have them. If I'm in deep chit... sooner. So what gives?
I have four sets you can buy or borrow, what do you need? All I read is you have an issue, but not even a word what props you looking for? There are tons in the classified and E-Bay. If you have an issue with BBlades then say it. Don't go into innuendoes. (sp?) just my .02 |
Frank and Jimmies prop shop in Ft Lauderdale does excellent work but I don't think they have much in stock or a loaner program. There are one or two advertisers in the prop classifieds saying the have props for testing. Hydromotive will also send you props to test but you have to pay shipping and eventually buy a set.

The OP isn't outright bashing and obviously has not received something he needed badly in a timely manor. Put yourself in his shoes... It's no secrete the main prop guy on this site (while very talented) has been spread a little thin since Throttle-up went belly up. Competition can be good and healthy for all. The fact that he's very busy supports that he's really good, but sometimes other avenues are needed.

this is what i was trying to avoid in my orig post.... im not bashing anyone im not badmouthing anyone all i asked is OTHER than who can i call on short notice.
Ive delt with alot of good guys on this board and alot of good recommendations. So that being said.... those of you trying to stir the pot can take the dick comments and the drama. |
I find it funny that half the people scream against the post in general and the other half want all the details.
back to the point.... i found a set of props, not sure if they are going to be perfect but it gets the boat back in the water and i can make the trip we have planned. Thanks to those of you who had something constructive to add. |

And back to the point of the post... The original post and the way it was worded, automaticaly stirs the pot. Slow... You could have said... "help.. I need some props." In 2.5 hours you found some. Amazing.... Good luck and hope you have great boating days. (and I mean this with all sincerely) The end. |

Thanks for the help guys.
Like i said before i got myself backed into a corner and i was at the point of no return. The last thing i wanted to do was miss our july 4th run so i had to bite the bullet and roll the dice on a set of props. Not sure if they are going to be right, but they will get me by. Should have them this friday so i can get the boat in the water and test this weekend before running out into the bay next weekend. |

Slow Play you are not the only one. Good luck.

With all these prop-centric eyeballs here -- I'll go fishing...
Anyone have a 24P RH B1 4 blade, labbed and in excellent condition they'd like to part with -- for a smokin' deal? Thanks I2D |
FWIW, I have a set of stock 32 bravos - only used a few times then stored since as backups.

I have a set of Labbed 30 Bravos

Slow play...you worded and asked for help just fine. The people on here who are swinging from bblades nutz obviously have not done business with them this spring. I am glad you got some props and hope you enjoy your vacation!

What are stock used props selling for these days?
I sets of: 24 B1's 20 hours 25 Rev 4's 1 hour 25 QIV-X 5 hours 26 B1's 30 hours 26 QIV-X 5 hours I settled on 24's B1's for the Summer and 26's for the Spring and Fall. I ended up with doubles because of a shipping error. Funny story- props had the Teague Marine sticker on them from when I bought them, sent them to a fellow OSO'er and they didn't work for him (or some thing like that, don't recall exactly) so he sent them back to "me". Well, UPS/FexEx/USPS or whatever shipper sent them back to Teague! LOL- it all worked out a few weeks or so later but I needed props in the meantime so just bought another set. |

Thanks to those of you who had something constructive to add. Do not feel like the lone ranger here. Been in the same place as you and was very upset with results of the program. End result for me was that I was told "the props are what they are", after a downward lab spiral. To which I simply replied "No they are what you made them!" Never been resolved, some 4k later. :( Props are a black art in my opinion, these guys should be honest. Say what you can do, Do what you say. Simple in my mind, just skip the egotistic BS. Try Scott Reichow at Merc Racing. |
