Nicholas Colby Holmes, born July 22, 1985, has recently passed away after a tragic boating accident in Barnegat Bay, NJ. Formerly of Morehead City, NC and Lacey Township, NJ. He is survived by his father and mother, CWO Ken and Patti Holmes, brothers BM2 Christopher and Jonathan Holmes. He was a Machinery Technician first class in the U.S. Coast Guard stationed at Air Station Atlantic City. He will be missed dearly, the amount of lives he touched in his short life greatly exceeds the amount of lives a normal person will touch in his lifetime.

A gathering will be held at Riggs Funeral Home in Lacey Township, NJ on Saturday, July 2, between 2-4 PM with a memorial service to follow. A reception after the service can be found at 6 PM at Captains Inn on Lacey Road. All are welcome.

Sorry Eric for the loss of a great friend and buddy. And thank you for the details. My families thoughts and prayers are with the Holmes family ... as well as your buddy who was driving. I live on Laurel Blvd. in LH, NJ and it was a sad week for all of us not even knowing him, so I can't even imagine. :( Gods Speed Nick! :(
